We are a handball club for students and we are also the only handball club in Wageningen. We train twice a week in sportshal the Bongerd (on the university campus). The practices take place every Tuesday from 21.00 until 22.30 and every Wednesday from 20.30 until 22.30 for both ladies and gents. If you want, you can always come to train with us! It doesn’t matter if you are an experienced handball player, or that you have never played handball before. Everyone is welcome! On Tuesdays, the training is aimed for experienced handball players who like to have an intensive practice. On Wednesday we have general open training for all members. If you have any question regarding the practice, don’t hesitate to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
We don’t play regular competition, but we play in a small competition with other student handball teams in the Netherlands. We also compete in the GNSK (Great Dutch Student Championship) which is the biggest sport event for students in the Netherlands. Once a year, we also compete in an international tournament. We already went to the Czech Republic, to Berlin and Italy. Besides playing handball, we also enjoy doing things together as an assocation. We organize a non-handball related social activity each period, such as Beerpong tournament, pubquiz or scavenger hunt. We traditionally close the academic year with the annual Centauri weekend in the beginning of July.
Throughout the years many international student have been part of WHV Centauri. We have had handball players from all over the world, from South Korea to Switserland! This international environment is something that is very important at WHV Centauri. Besides a fun integration between Dutch and International students it also gives us the opportunity have cultural activities such as Italian dinners and celebration of Dutch “Sinterklaas”!
So if you like to play and train with us sometime, you are more than welcome!
